I’m Nick Rhoades, and my journey with fly fishing began at just eight years old on my uncle’s farm. Over five decades later, it remains my greatest passion.​

At 17, I joined the Australian Army, and from there, my path took me to Broome, where I worked as a pearl diver. That adventure led me into the world of mixed gas commercial diving, searching for oil beneath the ocean’s surface.

Eventually, my love of fly fishing pulled me back in. I spent over a decade guiding fly fishers across the globe before earning a place on the Australian Flyfishing Team. I was proud to represent my country twice on the international stage before stepping back from competition.​

These days, my greatest joy comes not from casting a line myself—but from helping others experience the thrill of a well-earned catch. Guiding someone onto a good fish is more rewarding to me now than catching it myself.
